P R O C L A M A T I O N
In appreciation of Carl Neu and his dedicated
service to the City of Lakewood
WHEREAS, Carl Neu has been part of Lakewood as a leader serving the public for more than three decades; and
WHEREAS, Carl's work on behalf of the community has left a permanent mark - literally. It would be hard to find a municipal building in Lakewood that does not have Carl's signature on it.
WHEREAS, his service has provided leadership to the Lakewood Public Building Authority where Carl has been a director for 30 years and its president for more than 20 years; and
WHEREAS, his work with the Authority has encompassed an impressive list of building projects for the City that include construction of the Public Safety Center, the City's new Civic Center north and south buildings, the Belmar Library, the new Whitlock Recreation Center and the Homestead Golf Course; and
WHEREAS, his tenure with the Authority also includes the renovations of the Carmody and Link recreation centers as well as the Public Safety Center; and
WHEREAS, Carl's leadership extends to serving as a City Council member during Lakewood's formative years, representing southwest Lakewood from 1975 to 1979; and
WHEREAS, Carl's tenure on City Council was distinguished by several important projects including a move to a new City Hall on 44 Union Boulevard, conversion of the former City Hall to a senior center, acquisition of key park areas and the creation of a new City logo and flag; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting that in conjunction with Carl's 30th anniversary of his service to the Authority, we recognize his considerable contributions and express to him our sincere thanks for a job well done.
NOW, THEREFORE, on behalf of the City Council and the people of Lakewood, I,
Bob Murphy, Mayor of the City of Lakewood, Colorado, by virtue of the authority
vested in me, do hereby proclaim appreciation to Carl Neu for his dedicated
service to the City of Lakewood.
