A RESOLUTION

AMENDING RESOLUTION 2007-48, AS AMENDED, CONCERNING THE ADVISORY COMMISSION FOR AN INCLUSIVE COMMUNITY

WHEREAS, by Resolution 2007-48, the City Council created an Advisory Commission for an Inclusive Community and abolished four previously created advisory commissions, namely the Senior Citizen Advisory Commission, the Heritage, Culture and the Arts Commission, the Commission on Cultural Diversity and Human Relations, and the Youth Commission; and

WHEREAS, Resolution 2007-48 was amended by Resolution 2008-49 to more accurately describe the structure of the Advisory Commission, and specifically to refer to the nine subcommittees as "committees"; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend Resolution 2007-48 to expand the Executive Committee to twelve members and to change the name of the Historic Landmark Committee to the Historic Preservation Committee.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakewood, Colorado that:

SECTION 1. Section 3 of Resolution 2007-48 is hereby amended to read in full as follows:

The Advisory Commission for an Inclusive Community shall be composed of 60 appointed commissioners and shall consist of nine committees which shall meet on an as-needed basis. The nine committees are:

Parks, Trails and Open Space
Public Arts and Culture
Environment
Historic Preservation
Youth
Seniors
Neighborhoods
Business
Diversity Education

SECTION 2. Section 4 of Resolution 2007-48 is hereby amended to read in full as follows:

The Advisory Commission for an Inclusive Community shall meet monthly, unless cancelled for cause by a vote of the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee shall consist of twelve members, including a Chair, Vice Chair and Secretary selected by the Commission as a whole. Additionally, each committee will choose a chairman and/or a representative, who shall serve as a representative to the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee will work closely with the Commission Coordinator/Advisor for assignments and guidance on Council requests for advice.

SECTION 3. Except as amended by this Resolution and Resolution 2008-49, all other provisions of Resolution 2007-48 shall remain in full force and effect.

INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED by a vote of 11 for and 0 against at a regular meeting of the City Council on December 8, 2008, at 7 o'clock p.m. at Lakewood Civic Center, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
