RESOLUTION: 2008-76
SUBJECT: Certify expenditures to, and request reimbursement from, Jefferson County Open Space for improvement expenditures of the Bear Creek Lake Park (BCLP) Campground.
ADDRESS: 15600 Morrison Road, Lakewood, CO
RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended City Council authorize the Department of Community Resources to request reimbursement from Jefferson County Open Space, in the amount of two hundred twelve thousand dollars ($212,000) for work completed during the period of September 1, 2005 through August 31, 2008.
FUNDING SOURCE: Jefferson County Open Space Grant
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: In 2005, the City of Lakewood was awarded a grant from Jefferson County Open Space for BCLP Campground Improvements. This project completes the installation of a sanitary dump station; additional electrical service to 34 sites; enhancement of 50 campsites which now include picnic tables, fire rings, shrubbery, and level pads; a trail connection from the campground to the existing Cowen Trail; and paving of the campground roads. The Department of Community Resources has completed the improvements and is now requesting reimbursement.
