A RESOLUTION

SUPPORTING GRANT APPLICATIONS TO GREAT OUTDOORS COLORADO AND JEFFERSON COUNTY OPEN SPACE JOINT VENTURE GRANT PROGRAM REQUESTING FUNDING FOR PARK IMPROVEMENTS AT COYOTE GULCH PARK AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF THE GRANT AGREEMENTS IF APPROVED

WHEREAS, the Lakewood City Council desires park improvements, including the construction of a baseball field, at Coyote Gulch Park for the benefit of the community; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Community Resources is applying for a grant from Great Outdoors Colorado and Jefferson County Open Space Joint Venture Grant Program for improvements at Coyote Gulch Park; and

WHEREAS, the Great Outdoors Colorado and Jefferson County Open Space require a resolution supporting the grant application, from the governing body of the agency applying for the grant.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakewood, Colorado, that:

SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Lakewood hereby supports the grant applications to Great Outdoors Colorado and Jefferson County Open Space Joint Venture Grant Program for park improvements at Coyote Gulch Park.

SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Lakewood, Colorado hereby authorizes the Director of the Department of Community Resources to sign the grant agreements with GOCO and JCOS pending approval of said grants; hereby authorizing the expenditure of funds necessary to meet the terms and obligations of the grant agreements and applications.

INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED by a vote of 10 for and 0 against at a regular meeting of the City Council on September 8, 2008, at 7 o'clock p.m. at the Lakewood Civic Center, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
