RESOLUTION: 2008-45

SUBJECT: Metro Wastewater Reclamation District Board of Directors reappointment.

RECOMMENDATION: Reappoint Mark Hunter to the Board of Directors of the Metro Wastewater Reclamation District for a two year term expiring June 30, 2010.

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:

The City of Lakewood, most cities in the Denver Metropolitan area, and most special districts send their sewage flow to the Metro Wastewater Reclamation District which owns the major sewage plant in the Denver Metro area. A board of directors governs the Metro District. The board members are appointed by the Metro District member organizations including Lakewood and various districts such as the Alameda Water and Sanitation District and the Bancroft Clover Water and Sanitation District.

Mr. Hunter has served on the Metro Board for three years. Mr. Hunter's reappointment will provide a high level of continuity for Lakewood. It is recommended he be reappointed for a two year term expiring June 30, 2010.
