A RESOLUTION

AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD TO ENTER INTO A INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO RECEIVE A FEDERAL AID GRANT FOR THE UPGRADE OF THE COMMUNICATIONS PORTION OF THE CENTRAL TRAFFIC SIGNAL COMPUTER SYSTEM

WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood as a local agency is eligible for funding under the Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century (TEA-21) and /or the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU), and:

WHEREAS, Federal Aid funds have been offered to the City of Lakewood by the Denver Regional Council of Governments through the Colorado Department of Transportation, and;

WHEREAS, the City has a desire to use such funds for the purchase of software and hardware for the upgrade of the communications portion of the central traffic signal computer system.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakewood, Colorado, that:

SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute, and the City Clerk to attest, a Intergovernmental Agreement with the Colorado Department of Transportation, in a form approved by the City Attorney, for the City of Lakewood to receive $310,000 in Federal Aid funds for the upgrade of the communications portion of the central traffic signal computer system.

INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED by a vote of 8 for and 2 against at a regular meeting of the City Council on May 12, 2008 at 7 o'clock p.m. at Lakewood Civic Center, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
