RESOLUTION: 2008-25
SUBJECT: Bid award for Wadsworth Boulevard - Weir Gulch Underpass Improvements
RECOMMENDATION: Approval.
FUNDING SOURCES: Federal Funds, Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) Funds and Lakewood Capital Improvement Funds (CIF).
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: The City of Lakewood entered into an agreement with the Colorado Department of Transportation to provide a bike path under Wadsworth Boulevard through the Weir Gulch box culvert. This project was awarded federal funds to provide a grade separated safe pedestrian crossing of Wadsworth Boulevard. The City designed, acquired easements, bid and will provide construction management for the project.
On January 17, 2008 the City opened bids for the Wadsworth - Weir Gulch Underpass Improvement Project, Bid No. 2779. The lowest responsible, responsive and qualified bidder was TARCO, Inc. with a bid of $849,879.42.
The federal grant and GOCO funds will pay $651,000 which is approximately 67% of the total project costs.
