A RESOLUTION

AUTHORIZING AN AMENDED AND RESTATED INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION DISTRICT (RTD) FOR THE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF BIKEPATH BRIDGES OVER KIPLING STREET AND WADSWORTH BOULEVARD

WHEREAS, federal funds totaling $1,090,000 have been obtained for the design and construction of bikepath bridges over Kipling Street and Wadsworth Boulevard in the State Transportation Improvement Program (TIP); and

WHEREAS, RTD has under contract a design team and contractor working on light rail bridges at these locations and has agreed to facilitate the design and construction of the bikepath bridges; and

WHEREAS, Resolution 2006-38 authorized an intergovernmental agreement with RTD allocating up to $200,000 for design of said bridges; and

WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood desires to enter into an amended and restated intergovernmental agreement with RTD to fund construction of said bridges.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Lakewood, Colorado, that:

SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute, and the City Clerk to attest, an amended and restated intergovernmental agreement with the Regional Transportation District, in form approved by the City Attorney, for design and construction of the bikepath bridges. The City of Lakewood's estimated contribution for design and construction is One Million Four Hundred Ten Thousand and No/100 Dollars ($1,410,000).

INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED by a vote of 10 For and 1 Against at a regular meeting of the City Council on February 11, 2008, at 7 o'clock p.m. at Lakewood Civic Center, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
