ORDINANCE: O-2008-20
SUBJECT: Compensation for the Municipal Court Judges
RECOMMENDATION: Adopt Ordinance 2008-20 setting the salaries for the Municipal Court Judges.
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: Each year the Judges' Salary Committee meets to make a recommendation on the annual compensation for the presiding municipal judge, two municipal judges and part-time associate municipal judges in the Municipal Court. The Salary Committee has met and is recommending the following salaries: $117,864 for the presiding municipal judge Anne Stavig, $117,864 for municipal (past presiding) judge Tom Elliott and $112,882 for municipal judge Dan Ramsey. The Committee did not make a recommendation for an increase in compensation for the part-time associate judges.
The proposed salaries reflect a one point seven (1.7) percent increase. If approved, the new salaries will be retroactive to March 23, 2008, the same day other City employees' salary adjustments take effect.
