ORDINANCE: O-2008-9
SUBJECT: Allow Alcohol Beverage Tastings in Retail and Liquor-Licensed Drugstores.
RECOMMENDATION: Approval of the ordinance
FUNDING SOURCE: N/A
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: In 2004, the State Legislature amended C.R.S. 12-47-301 to allow for alcohol beverage tastings in retail and liquor-licensed drugstores. The statute authorized local jurisdictions to adopt an ordinance or resolution allowing these liquor licensees to conduct sample tastings of alcoholic beverages within their establishments. Adoption of this ordinance would allow for this to occur in Lakewood's retail and liquor-licensed drugstores. The Lakewood Police Department is in support of the ordinance.
