ORDINANCE: O-2008-7
SUBJECT: Ordinance authorizing the City to execute an easement for utility line facilities to Public Service Company of Colorado for the existing utility located along the South property line of Belmar Park located at 801 South Wadsworth Boulevard.
ADDRESS: 801 South Wadsworth Boulevard.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of this ordinance authorizing conveyance of the easement to Public Service Company of Colorado.
FUNDING SOURCE: N/A
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: City of Lakewood City Council passed on the 27th day of September, 1976, Ordinance O-76-59 which authorized the City of Lakewood to convey a utility easement to Public Service Company of Colorado in order to install a utility line adjacent to the South property line of Belmar Park. The utility line was installed but for unknown reasons the easement was never executed. This ordinance would authorize the execution and recording of a new easement at the same general location. This easement is necessary to allow Public Service Company of Colorado's utility line to remain in the park in order to continue to provide power to the residents of Lakewood and allow Public Service Company of Colorado to upgrade the facilities as needed. Staff reviewed the location of the utility line and determined that it is in the right location and will not interfere with the future use of the City land.
