RFCA-O-2008-6 REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION

ORDINANCE: O-2008-6

SUBJECT: Emergency Ordinance authorizing the City to convey two easements, one for a fire hydrant and related appurtenances and the second for a water meter pit and related appurtenances, to Bancroft Clover Water and Sanitation District for the redevelopment of Ray W. Ross Park, located at 680 South Harlan Street.

RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of this Ordinance authorizing conveyance of the easements.

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: Bancroft Clover Water and Sanitation District has asked the City for a fire hydrant easement and a water meter pit easement necessary to complete the redevelopment of Ray W. Ross Park. These easements are necessary to allow Bancroft Clover Water and Sanitation District to install a fire hydrant at the Park and to install a water meter pit which will provide water service to the new improvements located in the Park. Staff has reviewed the proposed locations for the fire hydrant and water meter and determined that they are in the correct location and will not interfere with the future use of the City land.
