ORDINANCE: O-2008-5
SUBJECT: Emergency ordinance authorizing the City to convey an easement for a water line across Ray W. Ross Park to complete a loop from an existing water line located on the east side of the Park to an existing water line located in the South Harlan Street right-of-way to Bancroft Clover Water and Sanitation District.
ADDRESS: 680 South Harlan Street.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of this ordinance authorizing conveyance of the easement to Bancroft Clover Water and Sanitation District.
FUNDING SOURCE: N/A
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: The City of Lakewood has been asked by Bancroft Clover Water and Sanitation District if the City would convey an easement for a water line across the southern portion of Ray W. Ross Park. This easement would allow the District to connect the existing water line located at the east end of the Park to a water line located in the South Harlan Street right-of-way, which is the street adjacent to the West property line of the Park. The construction of this water line will complete the loop between these two lines which will help provide better water service to the neighborhood. Community Resources staff has reviewed this request and has no concerns.
