Representing Lakewood, Colorado

WHEREAS, Joanna Johnson has demonstrated her musical talents through the mastery and study of the viola; and

WHEREAS, Joanna Johnson is a talented musician, receiving honors such as being a nine-year veteran of the Denver Young Artists' Orchestra, winning the CSMTA String Competition and the First Plymouth Music Competition as well as the FMTA Sonatina Festival Advanced Division; and

WHEREAS, Joanna Johnson is the oldest of eight children, all of whom play stringed instruments. She enjoys presenting musical programs for nursing home residents with her family's string quartet and she studies with James Maurer and Basil Vendryes; and

WHEREAS, we are pleased to welcome Joanna Johnson into the ongoing Sister Cities Music Scholar Exchange Program.

NOW, THEREFORE, on behalf of the City Council and the residents of Lakewood,
