RESOLUTION: 2007-40

SUBJECT: Reappoint two persons to the Alameda Corridor Business Improvement District Board of Directors.

RECOMMENDATION: Approval

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:

At the Lakewood City Council's July 28, 2003 meeting approval was granted for the creation of the Alameda Corridor Business Improvement District (ACBID). Along with this official action the Council also provided for the organization of the District Board of Directors. Per state statute should any Board Director position become vacant the City Council appoints a qualified elector of the District to fill the vacant Board seat.

Mr. John Buckley and Ms. Barbara Teich are currently Directors for the ACBID, with a term expiring on June 30, 2007. They have been nominated by the Board of Directors of the ACBID to serve for a second term. Their new term will run from July 1, 2007 to June 30, 2010. Mr. John Buckley is the property owner for Alameda Crossing Shopping Center, 225 South Sheridan Boulevard. Ms. Barbara Teich is the property manager for the Lakewood City Commons and is employed by Transwestern Commercial Services.
