A RESOLUTION
ENDORSING THE CANDIDACY OF LAKEWOOD CITY COUNCIL MEMBER DIANA ALLEN FOR ELECTION TO THE COLORADO MUNICIPAL LEAGUE (CML) EXECUTIVE BOARD IN THE LARGE POPULATION CATEGORY, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, COLORADO
WHEREAS, Diana Allen, as a member of the Lakewood City Council, has served on key Council committees, such as the Budget & Audit and Commission Screening committees, and is currently the City Council lead on a project to re-evaluate and improve the City of Lakewood's processes for advisory boards and commissions; and
WHEREAS, since her election, Councilmember Allen has demonstrated clear, consistent communication with citizens, and worked energetically to network with state, county, community and other organizations on behalf of Lakewood; and
WHEREAS, Councilmember Allen has more than ten years of experience in marketing, communications and leadership in the non-profit and local municipal government arenas, effectively applying and sharpening her skills in clear, direct communication and strong leadership, and
WHEREAS, Diana's lifelong passion for volunteering in the local community is exemplified by her work for Habitat for Humanity, by her service as past president and current member of Lakewood Foothills Rotary Club, by her leadership as past president of the Lakewood on Parade community festival, and by her current service on the CML Issues & Trends committee; and
WHEREAS, Diana's deep roots in small-town rural Colorado and her experience, service and leadership in Colorado's fourth-largest city uniquely qualify her to consider all sides of the many issues facing the spectrum of municipalities served by CML; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lakewood wishes to endorse the candidacy of Councilmember Diana Allen for the Executive Board of the Colorado Municipal League;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakewood,
Colorado, that:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Lakewood does hereby officially endorse
the candidacy of Diana Allen, City Councilmember, for the Executive Board of
the Colorado Municipal League, in the large population category.
INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED by a vote of 10 For and 0 Against at a regular meeting of the City Council on May 14, 2007, at 7 o'clock p.m. at the Lakewood Civic Center, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
