REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION

RESOLUTION: 2007-11

SUBJECT: Adoption of Master Plan for Surfside Park

ADDRESS: 5330 West 9th Avenue

RECOMMENDATION: The Department of Community Resources recommends that the City Council adopt the proposed master plan for the redevelopment of Surfside Park dated December 2006.

FUNDING SOURCE: To be determined

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: At the March 5, 2007 City Council Study Session, the Department of Community Resources presented a proposed master plan for the redevelopment of Surfside Park. The plan indicated a complete redevelopment of the site. The plan includes parking, restroom, a maintenance building, five activity pavilions, two splash play areas, and security lighting.

The plan was reviewed and recommended for City Council approval by the Lakewood Planning Commission at their February 26, 2007 meeting.

The City Council recommended that the plan be brought forward for formal adoption.
