A RESOLUTION
FOR THE ADOPTION OF A MASTER PLAN FOR REDEVELOPMENT OF SURFSIDE PARK
WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood has maintained Surfside Park located at 5330 West 9th Avenue for the benefit of the community since 1972; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lakewood has determined that the existing facilities at Surfside Park are no longer suitable for public use; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lakewood desires to continue public use of Surfside Park; and,
WHEREAS, the Department of Community Resources has solicited input for park improvement from the community around Surfside Park; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to provide for the orderly redevelopment of Surfside Park to meet the needs and desires of the community; and,
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Lakewood on February 26, 2007 held a public hearing to review the proposed master plan for Surfside Park, and recommended the adoption of the master plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakewood, Colorado, that:
SECTION 1. The master plan for the Surfside Park dated December 2006 is hereby adopted, and shall be used as a guide for the development of the park site.
INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED by a vote of 10 for and 0 against at a regular meeting of the City Council on March 26, 2007, at 7 p.m., at Lakewood Civic Center, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
