RESOLUTION: 2007-4
SUBJECT: Approval of contract extension for design services related to the Redevelopment of Ray Ross Park.
ADDRESS: 680 South Harlan Street
RECOMMENDATION: The Department of Community Resources recommends the approval of a contract extension with Winston Associates, Inc. to provide construction documents and other construction services for improvements to Ray Ross Park.
FUNDING SOURCE: Section 108 Loan proceeds
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: In December of 2005 the City entered into a contract with Winston Associates, Inc. to develop a master plan for the redevelopment of Ray Ross Park. Winston Associates, Inc. was selected using the City's procedure for selection of firms to provide professional services.
The next stage in the process to redevelop Ray Ross Park is to develop drawings and specifications for the work to be completed. Winston Associates, Inc. has provided a proposal to complete the work. The proposal to extend the contract has been reviewed by the Department of Community Resources, and has been found acceptable. Because of the master planning process, Winston Associates, Inc. is the most familiar with the project and its challenges and, therefore, the best choice to develop the Ray Ross Park construction documents.
