RESOLUTION: 2007-2

SUBJECT: Certify expenditures to, and request reimbursement from, Jefferson County Open Space for improvement expenditures of the Gary R. McDonnell Park.

ADDRESS: 1001 Simms Street, Lakewood, CO

RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended City Council authorize the Department of Community Resources to request reimbursement from Jefferson County Open Space, in the amount of one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) for work completed during the period of January 1, 2003 through September 30, 2006.

FUNDING SOURCE: County Open Space Grant

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: In 2003, the City of Lakewood was awarded a grant from Jefferson County Open Space for Gary R. McDonnell Park Improvements. This project completes the installation of a sports court appropriate for basketball and informal roller hockey, and a looped trail around the site. The Department of Community Resources has completed the Phase II improvements and is now requesting reimbursement.
