ORDINANCE: O-2007-34
SUBJECT: Ordinance declaring the City's intent to acquire interests in real property for a Traffic Safety Signal Project at the intersection of Kipling Street and West 20th Avenue.
ADDRESS: The northeast corner (2000 Kipling Street) and the northwest corner (2025 Kipling Street) of the intersection of Kipling Street and West 20th Avenue.
RECOMMENDATION: Adoption of this ordinance.
FUNDING SOURCE: Federal Safety Funds.
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: The City will be improving the intersection by replacing the existing traffic signal with a new traffic signal and constructing sidewalk improvements to meet the standards of the American Disability Act. The improvements will make the intersections safer for pedestrian and vehicular traffic. This work is anticipated to start in 2008. In order to construct the improvements, the City needs to acquire the necessary property interests.
