ORDINANCE: O-2007-32
SUBJECT: Rezoning Case No. RZ-07-002
Request approval to rezone a parcel of land from 1-R (Large Lot Residential)
to PD (Planned Development) in order to allow for the construction of a barn
exceeding the area limitations for an accessory structure on the 95,422 square-foot
property.
ADDRESS: 9001 W 10th Avenue
APPLICANT: Larry and Robin Foiles, Property Owners
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of this rezoning.
Planning Commission, by a vote of 6-0 at the November 7, 2007 meeting, recommended approval of this request by City Council.
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: The applicants are requesting to rezone approximately 95,422 square feet of land located at 9001 W. 10th Avenue from 1-R (Large Lot Residential District) to PD (Planned Development District) in order to build an accessory barn structure in excess of the 1,800 square foot maximum allowed in the 1-R District. Along with the barn, the applicants are proposing a windmill and a private pond on the property. The applicants are not proposing a subdivision of the existing property with this proposal. The proposed PD also prevents a public vehicular road connection from Everett Court to 10th Avenue.
At the November 7, 2007 Planning Commission meeting, the Planning Commission recommended approval by City Council. This case is now ready for City Council action.
