ORDINANCE: O-2007-23
SUBJECT: Annexation Case Number AX-07-001
To annex 699.8 acres of land known as the Denver Federal Center into the City
of Lakewood.
ADDRESS: 11600 West 2nd Place
APPLICANT: Michael J. Rock, City Manager
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of this annexation request. The Planning Commission by a vote of 7 to 0 at the June 6, 2007 meeting recommended approval of this request to City Council.
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: The applicant, the City of Lakewood, is proposing to annex approximately 699.8 acres of land, which is commonly referred to as the Denver Federal Center. Concurrently the City of Lakewood is processing both a zoning and vesting request for the Denver Federal Center. The Denver Federal Center is currently located in unincorporated Jefferson County. The area proposed for annexation is completely surrounded by and contiguous with the City.
At the June 6, 2007 Planning Commission meeting, the Planning Commission recommended approval of this case by City Council. The case is now ready for City Council action.
