ORIDNANCE: O-2007-10
SUBJECT: Acceptance of a grant from Jefferson County Open Space, which will be disbursed to R-1 School District in order that they may upgrade a grass field to an artificial turf field at Lakewood High School and approval of an Intergovernmental Agreement between the City of Lakewood and Jefferson County School District No. R-1.
ADDRESS: 9700 W. 8th Avenue
RECOMMENDATION: Adopt the Ordinance.
FUNDING SOURCE: Jefferson County Open Space
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: Jefferson County Open Space wishes to financially support the upgrading of a grass field to an artificial turf field for several schools in the county. The first school, Lakewood High School, is located in Lakewood.
Due to the fact that Jefferson County Open Space desires an assurance that City of Lakewood residents will have access to the new artificial turf field, the City of Lakewood has been asked by the County to receive the grant award and act as a pass through agency for funding. An Intergovernmental Agreement between the City and Jefferson County School District No. R-1 is also necessary to address the joint use sports fields and facilities at Lakewood High School.
