ORDINANCE: O-2007-2
SUBJECT: An ordinance to authorize quitclaim deeds in lieu of vacation for portions of South Field Street right-of-way to the original grantors.
LOCATION: 480 South Garrison Street and 488 South Garrison Street.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Ordinance.
FUNDING SOURCE: N/A
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: The owners conveyed the East 10 feet of their property to the City of Lakewood for the South Field Street alignment. Subsequently these owners filed title insurance claims with their title insurance companies who then filed a quiet title action in the courts. For the title companies to move forward with the quiet title action the City of Lakewood must quitclaim said 10 foot strips back to the owners, which will be conveyed back to the City of Lakewood with clear title and as required by the public improvement agreement.
