PROCLAMATION
WEEK OF THE YOUNG CHILD
April 8 - 14, 2007
WHEREAS, the future well-being of our youth, and therefore our community, depends on the quality of the early childhood experiences provided to young children today; and
WHEREAS, high-quality early childhood services represent a worthy commitment to our children's future and the future of our community and nation; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood serves over 200 children each year in its top-quality early childhood programs; and
WHEREAS, by calling attention to the need for high-quality early childhood services for all children and families within our community, the quality and availability of those services may be improved.
NOW, THEREFORE, on behalf of the City Council and the people of Lakewood, I, Steve Burkholder, Mayor of the City of Lakewood, Colorado, by virtue of the authority vested in me, do hereby proclaim the week of April 8-14, 2007
WEEK OF THE YOUNG CHILD
In the City of Lakewood, and urge all citizens to recognize and support the needs of young children in our community.
