ITEM 3 - PRESENTATION - SNOW PLOW OPERATIONS

Dick Plastino, Director of Public Works and Joni Inman, Director of the Mayor & City Manager's Office, presented information regarding the two-way communication between City staff, City Council, and citizens. Ideas were exchanged regarding how to best communicate with citizens, as they currently leave a message and do not receive a return call. Mr. Plastino explained that the recent snowstorms were an anomaly and that dollars would be better spent in snowplow operations rather than creating a phone bank of some type. City Council members asked about the responsibility of snow plow operations at various locations in the City. It was decided that Ms. Inman would research through the I.T. Department ways to increase the phone voice mail system for the snow plow operation complaints, as well as other ways to improve communication amongst everyone concerned.

ITEM 4 - REPORTS - MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL

Councilwoman Wise stated that the Boards and Commissions need to be examined. They should be reviewed to ensure they have a meaningful purpose. Councilman Peterson asked that if the Boards and Commissions were examined, if the Council would possibly consider adding an Open Space Board to the City. Mr. Rock stated that staff would start the procedure and inform Council of its progress.

Councilman Murphy asked that a Study Session be scheduled to discuss graffiti as it is becoming a problem again and a more comprehensive effort needs to be made in having it removed. Mr. Rock stated that a study session would be scheduled.

ITEM 5 - ADJOURNMENT

There being no further business to come before the Council; Mayor Burkholder adjourned the meeting at 8:25 p.m.
