RESOLUTION: 2006-76
SUBJECT: Appoint one person to the Alameda Corridor Business Improvement District Board of Directors to complete an unexpired term.
RECOMMENDATION: Approval
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
At the Lakewood City Council's July 28, 2003 meeting approval was granted for the creation of the Alameda Corridor Business Improvement District (ACBID). Along with this official action the Council also provided for the organization of the District Board of Directors. Per state statute should any Board Director position become vacant the City Council appoints a qualified elector of the District to fill the vacant Board seat.
Mr. Martin Mischel, ACBID Director tendered his resignation from the Board of Directors. The ACBID nominated Mr. Bob Lawrence to serve in place of Mr. Mischel for the remaining term, which commenced on July 1, 2005 and will expire on June 30, 2008. Mr. Bob Lawrence is the owner and proprietor of the Atlanta Bread Company restaurant at the Lakewood City Commons.
