A RESOLUTION

DESIGNATING THE JEFFERSON COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT AS THE GOVERNING BODY TO COORDINATE METH LAB CLEANUP ACTIVITIES IN THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD

WHEREAS, the governor signed House Bill 04-1182 requiring the State Board of Health to set cleanup standards for properties used as clandestine methamphetamine labs; and

WHEREAS, the Jefferson County Department of Health and Environment is requesting the municipalities of Jefferson County designate the Jefferson County Department of Health and Environment as the governing body according to Colorado Revised Statute Title 25 Section 18.5 to efficiently enforce methamphetamine laboratory cleanup regulations.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council for the City of Lakewood, Colorado, that:

SECTION 1. The Jefferson County Department of Health and Environment is hereby designated the governing body according to Colorado Revised Statute Title 25 Section 18.5 to efficiently enforce methamphetamine laboratory cleanup regulations.

INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED by a vote of 11 for and 0 against at a regular meeting of the City Council on November 13, 2006, at 7 o'clock p.m. at Lakewood Civic Center, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
