RESOLUTION: 2006-65
SUBJECT: Bid Award for Sheridan Sidewalk, Ohio to Center and Virginia to Alameda.
RECOMMENDATION: Approval.
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
This project will build approximately 1,200 feet of sidewalk along the west
side of Sheridan Boulevard from Ohio Avenue to Center Avenue and 800 feet of
sidewalk from Virginia Avenue north toward Alameda Avenue. This sidewalk will
provide safe pedestrian access along the west side of Sheridan Boulevard.
On October 13, 2006 bids for the Sheridan Sidewalk, Ohio to Center and Virginia to Alameda Project, Bid No. 2641, were opened and the firm of Concrete Construction Specialties, L.L.C. was the lowest responsive, responsible and qualified bidder with a bid of $188,644.40. An $18,864.00 contingency is recommended for a total contract amount not to exceed $207,508.40.
An initial phase of sidewalk, from Mississippi to Kentucky, was completed in 2005. An additional segment is scheduled for 2007 that will complete the project from Mississippi to Alameda.
