Request for Council Action - Resolution 2006-41 REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION

RESOLUTION: 2006-41

SUBJECT: Reappoint two persons to the Alameda Corridor Business Improvement District Board of Directors.

RECOMMENDATION: Approval.

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:

At the Lakewood City Council's July 28, 2003 meeting approval was granted for the creation of the Alameda Corridor Business Improvement District (ACBID). Along with this official action the Council also provided for the organization of the District Board of Directors. Per state statute should any Board Director position become vacant the City Council appoints a qualified elector of the District to fill the vacant Board seat.

Mr. Tom Gougeon and Ms. Kathleen Curtis are currently Directors for the ACBID, with a term expiring on June 30, 2006. They have been nominated by the Board of Directors of the ACBID to serve for a second term. Their new term will run from July 1, 2006 to June 30, 2009. Tom Gougeon is a partner in Continuum Partners, the developer for Belmar. Kathleen Curtis is the owner and operator of the Village Roaster coffee shops.
