A RESOLUTION

AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD TO ENTER INTO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE GREAT OUTDOORS COLORADO (GOCO) FOR THE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENTS IN THE VICINITY OF WADSWORTH BOULEVARD AT WEIR GULCH.

WHEREAS, the Lakewood bike trail system can be enhanced by adding a trail crossing under Wadsworth Boulevard between Kentucky and Ohio Avenues at Weir Gulch, and

WHEREAS, federal and local funds are available for a portion of the project; and

WHEREAS, GOCO is willing to provide $150,000 for the project.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Lakewood, Colorado, that:

SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute, and the City Clerk to attest, an agreement with the Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO), in form approved by the City Attorney, to accept a $150,000 grant for design and construction of the project.

SECTION 2. The City Treasurer is hereby authorized to expend the funds on behalf of the City of Lakewood in accordance with said grant.

INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED by a vote of 11 for and 0 against at a regular meeting of the City Council on June 12, 2006, at 7 o'clock p.m. at Lakewood Civic Center, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
