A RESOLUTION

RECOMMENDING AWARD OF A CONTRACT TO MATRIX ENGINEERING FOR THE CREATION AND USE OF A TRANSPORTATION PLANNING MODEL.

WHEREAS, the General Services Administration (GSA) is preparing a long range plan at the Denver Federal Center between Kipling Street, Union Boulevard, Alameda Avenue, and U.S. 6 in Lakewood, and;

WHEREAS, transportation issues will be analyzed and;

WHEREAS, the GSA has retained a transportation team to assist in this redevelopment, and;

WHEREAS, it will be cost effective to do a City traffic analysis in conjunction with the GSA,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Lakewood, that:

SECTION 1. The City Council hereby approves an agreement with Matrix Engineering to create a sub-area model that can be used by City staff and other transportation contractors to test different land use and roadway scenarios in western Lakewood.

SECTION 2. The City Manager is authorized to execute, and the City Clerk to attest, a contract with Matrix Engineering, in form approved by the City Attorney, in an amount not to exceed sixty thousand dollars ($60,000).

INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED by a vote of 10 for and 0 against at a regular meeting of City Council on May 8, 2006 at 7 o'clock p.m. at Lakewood Civic Center, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
