RESOLUTION: 2006-12
SUBJECT: Intergovernmental agreement with the Town of Morrison and Jefferson County for the Rooney Road Overlay Project.
RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the City Manager to enter into an intergovernmental agreement with the Town of Morrison and Jefferson County for the Rooney Road Overlay Project, in the amount of $144,133.50.
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: Rooney Road from Interstate 70 to Morrison Road is in need of an asphalt overlay. The street is within City of Lakewood, Town of Morrison and unincorporated Jefferson County boundaries. The overlay of this street was included in the proposed 2006 resurfacing program that was sent to Council for review in January of 2006.
Lakewood, Morrison and Jefferson County have agreed that the work involved on this project will be split as follows:
1. Lakewood and Jefferson County will perform patching and minor shoulder widening on their respective sections of Rooney Road prior to the overlay.
2. Lakewood will perform patching and minor shoulder widening on the Morrison section of Rooney Road prior to the overlay. Morrison shall reimburse Lakewood for the cost of this work, estimated to be $22,330.00.
3. Jefferson County will overlay all sections of Rooney Road. Lakewood and Morrison shall reimburse Jefferson County for the cost of the overlay work. Lakewood's expected reimbursement to Jefferson County for the overlay work is $144,133.50.
The unit prices for overlay that Jefferson County has agreed to for this project are comparable to prices received by Lakewood for the 2006 overlay program.
4. Each entity shall perform final striping on its respective section of Rooney Road.
