RESOLUTION: 2006-3
SUBJECT: Acceptance of bid #2526 and award of contract for the construction of the Regional Parks Maintenance Facility.
ADDRESS: 15600 West Morrison Road, Lakewood, CO 80465
RECOMMENDATION: The Department of Community Resources recommends the acceptance of bids for the construction of the Regional Parks Maintenance Facility and the award of the contract to Commercial Building Services Inc., in the amount of one million, twenty-one thousand, nine hundred twenty-two dollars ($1,021,922) for completion of the work.
FUNDING SOURCE: City's attributable shares from the Jefferson County Open Space Fund.
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: The City has provided maintenance of the property at Bear Creek Lake Park since 1982. For the past 24 years, the maintenance employees have made use of a 1940's garage to work out of. A new maintenance facility was identified as a project in the Park's Master Plan that was done in 1995. In 2002, the Department of Community Resources started planning for funding the new maintenance facility. Funds are now available in the City's Open Space Fund for the construction of this facility.
