SUBJECT: Vacation of portions of Independence Street and West 8th Avenue on the Lakewood High School campus
ADDRESS: 8th Avenue and Independence Street
RECOMMENDATION: Approve the ordinance
FUNDING SOURCE: Not applicable
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: Lakewood High School is currently undergoing a major renovation and reconstruction. The campus extends over Independence Street and West 8th Avenue that are platted but not constructed. The Jefferson County School District has requested that these rights of way be vacated. Vacating these rights of way will remove them from the right of way maps and transfer ownership of these to the district. Staff recommends vacating these rights of way in conjunction with the renovation of the school.
