ORDINANCE: O-2006-6
SUBJECT: Stormwater Quality Ordinance Modification.
RECOMMENDATION: Adoption.
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:
National Discharge Pollutant Elimination System (NDPES) regulations require the City of Lakewood to obtain and enforce a Colorado Discharge Permit System (CDPS) permit. In August 2005, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) performed a routine audit to ensure that Lakewood was complying with terms of the CDPS permit.
One recommendation from the audit was to revise sections of City codes and regulations to define "significant" as it pertains to new development and redevelopment site grading requirements. The new ordinance modifications define "significant" as grading operations that disturb more than one (1) acre of land.
