City Staff: Edie Richey reported that starting this October Clements Community Center will again partner with Visiting Nurse Association to provide the"Telemonitoring" Program. The Program is designed for persons age 60 and older who have a chronic heart or lung condition. Participants come in 3+ times a week to use a monitor to check vital signs (blood pressure, oxygen saturation, weight and heart. The monitor asks a few questions and sends information immediately to a VNA nurse. Telemonitoring saves visits to the doctor and prevents trips to the hospital or emergency room.
Edie Richey told the Commission that the Jefferson County Council held an "Affordable Housing Workshop" at Clements, which was well attended. A panel discussed various ways that cities could build affordable senior housing.
