Commissioner Bessinger stated that she and Ken were unable to meet with Dr. Shirley Algiene from Alameda High School. He will check into this possibility and advise the Commission as soon as he has some information. Commissioner Kellen will contact Deb Jones from the Two Creeks Neighborhood Association to ask if their association would be interested in participating in the community focus project.

Commissioner Roybal distributed copies of "The Middle Class Squeeze: Lakewood", an article by "Communities United to Strengthen America". Commissioner Roybal provided a business card and stated that a member from this group would be happy to speak at the Commission's next monthly meeting.

Linda said that after reading an article about Citizens for Lakewood's Future, she stated that it seems that their focus is similar to that of the Commission and felt that collaboration with the group would be beneficial. Councilor King and Karen Nakandakare plan on attending their meeting tomorrow and find out what their mission is and whether or not this Commission can partner with them.
