Meeting called to order by Jackie Campeau at 4:00 pm.
Jackie Campeau announced that Roice Horning was forced to resign from the committee due to serious health issues. It was agreed by the entire committee that Roice's hard work and dedication to the committee and the City of Lakewood would be greatly missed.
Minutes: June minutes recorded by Carolyn Evans were approved by John Lasswell and Lisa Thompson with no corrections needed. Jackie Campeau will take minutes for the July meeting.
Presentation: See attached minutes from Margy Burton
Working Action Plan was given a final review and approved by the committee.
Sub-committee reports:
Communications: Nothing other than the Proclamation
Legislation: Nothing - It was decided that this committee needs to be evaluated. Edie will outline the process for the Committee's legislative recommendations to the City's Legislative Committee.
City Council: Nothing
City Staff: Edie will send a revised copy of the Commission's brochure to Al Pinel in City Printing Office.
Cultural Diversity Commission: No meetings for the last 2 months. Heritage, Culture and the Arts: Carolyn has started to attend meetings as a liaison. She will report back any items of interest.
Lakewood Police Department: Lisa Thompson met with Sgt. Al Padilla. Sgt. Padilla will provide statistics on senior visitation programs and other relevant data.
Lakewood Fire Department: Jackie Campeau still needs to contact the Fire Department regarding any senior related issues.
Other: Citizen's for Lakewood's Future was looking for Board of Director members. Carolyn Evans agreed to volunteer her time. Carolyn provided information regarding a celebration for Thursday, July 13th. All members were invited.
It was decided by the committee to not have a meeting in August because so many members would not be able to attend. Next meeting will be Wednesday, September 13th.
Meeting was adjourned at 5:45 pm
