MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING
CITY OF LAKEWOOD
BOARD OF APPEALS
July 11, 2006
4:30 P.M. - Community Planning & Development Conference Room

John Milan called the meeting to order. The roll was called and a quorum was confirmed.

Election of Chairman and Vice Chairman for Board of Appeals

Mr. Milan asked members to introduce and give a brief background of themselves.
A motion was made by Mr. Robert Wilson and seconded by Mr. Jess Hill to elect John Milan as Chairman. The motion passed unanimously. A motion was made by Mr. Jesse Hill and seconded by Mr. Jim Gurley elect Robert Wilson as Vice-Chairman. The motion passed unanimously. 5-0

Proposed changes to number of board members

Dan informed board members the City Clerks office has made a recommendation to reduce the
Board of Appeals to 7 members and eliminating alternate members Mr. Gurley made the motion to reduce the Board of Appeals to just 7 members and Mr. Wilson seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved. 5-0

Title 14-International Codes,

Dan Nickle reviewed the proposed amendments to the 2006 Editions of the International Codes and the 2005 National Electrical Code. Dan told the board Title 14 would go to City Council for first reading in August with second reading in September. Title 14 will become effective 30 days after approved by City Council.

Mr. Wilson made the motion to approve Title 14 with minor language changes. Mr. Gurley second. The motion carried and Title 14 was unanimously approved. 5-0.

Meeting was adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
