ITEM 1 - CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Burkholder called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. in the Employee Relations Training Room of the Lakewood Civic Center South Building, 480 S. Allison Pkwy. Lakewood, CO.
ITEM 2 - ROLL CALL

Full and timely notice of this Study Session Meeting had been given and a quorum was present.
ITEM 3 - DISCUSSION - FOLLOW UP ON DOG ORDINANCE
Deputy City Attorney Janet Young and Animal Control Supervisor Holy Gilbertson gave a PowerPoint presentation regarding strengthening Lakewood's Animal Control Ordinances. They presented as overview as well as a detailed proposed including a dangerous animal provision, an aggressive animal provision, a habitual animal provision, increased mandatory sanctions for violations, increased discretionary sanctions, and a county wide licensing program.
A question and answer period ensued.
There was consensus from City Council to move forward with the ordinance with minor changes.
ITEM 4 - OPEN DISCUSSION
Councilman Anderson asked if a discussion regarding Dog Parks could take place at a future date. It was decided that it would be placed in the "bucket" on City Council agendas for future consideration of a study session.
Councilman Anderson asked about the memorandum provided by Finance Director Larry Dorr which provided current procedures regarding vendor fees, sales tax collections, tax-exempt statuses, and other related items. There was consensus from the City Council that the current policy being followed by the Finance Department regarding these items was sufficient and no further discussion was necessary on the matters.
ITEM 5 - REPORTS - MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
Mayor and City Council reported their attendance at previous meetings and events and announced upcoming neighborhood meetings and events.
ITEM 6 - ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Council; Mayor Burkholder adjourned the meeting at 9:38 p.m.
