REQUEST FOR LRA ACTION
RESOLUTION: LRA 2006-3
SUBJECT: Authorizing the Secretary/Executive Director to implement a Records Retention Policy.
RECOMMENDATION: Approval
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: Under the Cooperative Agreement between the City and the LRA, City employees may undertake some LRA duties as assigned. City departments retain some records for the LRA, and the LRA staff retains other records. The LRA does not have a records retention policy regarding the schedule for retention of public records or a public records fee schedule for those records that are not covered in the City of Lakewood Records Retention Schedule and Public Records Fee Schedule. The City has received a number of requests of late for public records of the Lakewood Reinvestment Authority (LRA). In order to coordinate and facilitate the response of City and LRA staff to LRA public records requests, the LRA will create and implement an LRA Records Retention Policy which will include an LRA Record Retention Schedule, LRA Public Records Fee Schedule, and LRA Public Records Request Form to be available at the LRA offices and the City Clerk's office.
