A RESOLUTION

ADOPTING THE UNIFORM ELECTION CODE OF 1991, TITLE 1, C.R.S., AS AMENDED AND THE CURRENT RULES AND REGULATIONS GOVERNMENT ELECTION PROCEDURES ADOPTED BY THE SECRETARY OF STATE, AS AMENDED, AS IT PERTAINS TO COORDINATED MAIL BALLOT ELECTIONS AND APPROVING TWO INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENTS BETWEEN THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD AND JEFFERSON COUNTY, COLORADO, REGARDING THE NOVEMBER 1, 2005 COORDINATED MAIL BALLOT ELECTION

WHEREAS, coordinated mail ballot elections are conducted by the County Clerk and Recorder in accordance with the Uniform Election Code of 1991, Title 1, C.R.S. as amended and the Current Rules and Regulations Government Election Procedures adopted by the Secretary of State, as amended; and

WHEREAS, participation by municipalities within Jefferson County, Colorado, in the coordinated mail ballot election require the adoption of the Uniform Election Code of 1991, Title 1, C.R.S. as amended and the Current Rules and Regulations Government Election Procedures adopted by the Secretary of State; and

WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood wishes to sign two intergovernmental agreements with the County of Jefferson County, Colorado, concerning the mailing of notices and allocation of jurisdictional duties.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakewood, Colorado, that:

SECTION 1. The City of Lakewood adopts Uniform Election Code of 1991, Title 1, C.R.S. as amended and the Current Rules and Regulations Government Election Procedures adopted by the Secretary of State, as amended, as it pertains to coordinated mail ballot elections.

SECTION 2. The City Manager is authorized to sign and the City Clerk is authorized to attest intergovernmental agreements with the Jefferson County Clerk and Recorder's Office, necessary to effect all City of Lakewood Municipal Elections.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect upon its adoption and approval.

INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED by a vote of 11 for and 0 against at a special meeting of the City Council on August 8, 2005, at 7 o'clock p.m. at Lakewood City Hall, Civic Center South, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
