SUBJECT: Resolution to Approve Award for Merchant Bankcard Services

FUNDING SOURCE: Various funds depending upon source of transaction
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: In April 2005 Request for Proposals 2547 was issued for merchant bankcard services. This service is to process credit cards the City accepts at various locations throughout the City, such as municipal courts, recreation centers, permit counters and golf courses. Merchant bankcard fees are assessed as a percentage of each transaction and therefore the cost is variable. As such, the amount of the expenditure is also variable in nature. The City received ten (10) proposals in response to this request. The proposal most advantageous to the City was received from Bank of America.
