RESOLUTION: 2005-44

SUBJECT: Appoint two persons to the Alameda Corridor Business Improvement District Board of Directors.

RECOMMENDATION: Approval

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER:

At the Lakewood City Council's July 28, 2003 meeting approval was granted for the creation of the Alameda Corridor Business Improvement District (ACBID). Along with this official action the Council also provided for the organization of the District Board of Directors. Per state statute should any Board Director position become vacant the City Council appoints a qualified elector of the District to fill the vacant Board seat.

Mr. Bruce Katchen's, term as ACBID Director has expired. The ACBID nominated Ms. Deirdra Garcia for a term of three years, which commences on July 1, 2005 and will expire on June 30, 2008. Ms. Deirdra Garcia is co-owner/vice president of DRG Construction. Ms. Garcia's new office is located at 5401 West Alameda Avenue.

Mr. Martin Mischel is currently a Director for the ACBID, with a term expiring on June 30, 2005. His new term will run from July 1, 2005 to June 30, 2008. Mr. Martin Mischel is the business owner and operator of Bowlero Lanes, located at 5480 West Alameda Avenue.
