RESOLUTION: 2005-42
SUBJECT: A resolution establishing the National Incident Management System (NIMS) as the standard for incident management in the City of Lakewood.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve
FUNDING SOURCE: N/A
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: The Homeland Security Directive requires that all federal, state and local governments adopt the National Incident Management System as a condition for receiving federal preparedness funding. The National Incident Management System is intended to provide a consistent nationwide approach for governments and the private sector to work together during large-scale emergencies. The system incorporates operational protocols and best management practices to provide a consistent and flexible approach to incident management.
