A RESOLUTION

IN APPRECIATION FOR THE SERVICES OF CHARLES CHOI, RETIRING MEMBER OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION AND PAST CHAIRMAN OF THE COMMISSION.

WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has responsibility for the City of Lakewood's Comprehensive Plan; and

WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has spent the last three years revising the Comprehensive Plan to more accurately reflect the current development of the City; and

WHEREAS, the new Comprehensive Plan moves the direction of planning within the City of Lakewood from a prescriptive standard to a performance standard, thereby, enhancing development creativity and promoting quality development that respects community standards neighborhoods and property rights; and

WHEREAS, Charles Choi was instrumental in developing the new Comprehensive Plan with fellow Commissioners, City staff and community input, thus saving the City of Lakewood and its citizens substantial tax payer dollars in the preparation of the Plan;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakewood:

That the City of Lakewood and the people of the City of Lakewood acting by and through there City Council do hereby express their grateful appreciation to Charles Choi for his dedicated service above and beyond that which would normally be associated with the active duties of a Planning Commissioner, for his leadership role in developing the City of Lakewood's new Comprehensive Plan and his service as Chairman of the Planning Commission.

INTRODUCED, READ AND ADOPTED by vote of 11 for and 0 against at a regular meeting of the City Council on March 28, 2005, at 7:00 o'clock p.m., at Lakewood Civic Center, 480 South Allison Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado.
