Request for Council Action for Ordinance O-2005-23 REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION

ORDINANCE: O-2005-23

SUBJECT: Ordinance authorizing the City to convey an easement for water line facilities to Green Mountain Water and Sanitation District across Addenbrooke Park located at 601 South Garrison Street. Further declaring an emergency.

ADDRESS: 601 South Garrison Street.

RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of this ordinance authorizing conveyance of the easement to Green Mountain Water and Sanitation District.

FUNDING SOURCE: N/A

SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: The City of Lakewood has been asked by Green Mountain Water and Sanitation District to convey an easement for a water line across Addenbrooke Park. This easement would allow the District to connect the existing water line that is located at the South end of the park to an existing water line that is located in South Hoyt Street and South Iris Court. The construction of this water line will complete the loop for the water line between the existing water line located in Addenbrooke Park and South Hoyt Street and South Iris Court. This will better serve the adjoining neighborhoods to the park and any existing and future improvements requiring water services located in the park if the water line ever has to be shut down due to repairs. The emergency clause has been requested to keep with the project schedule so that these improvements can be constructed in the summer of 2005. Community Resources staff has reviewed this request and have no concerns.
