ORDINANCE: O-2005-8
SUBJECT: Ordinance declaring the City's intent to acquire interests in real property for drainage improvements to South Lakewood Gulch at Colorado Christian University and Mile High Church.
ADDRESS: 8787 and 9079 West Alameda Avenue.
RECOMMENDATION: Approval.
SUMMARY AND BACKGROUND OF SUBJECT MATTER: The City will be constructing a 100-year stormwater detention facility on South Lakewood Gulch. The detention facility will reduce the impact a 100-year storm event will have on residential properties downstream along South Lakewood Gulch.
Construction is anticipated to start Fall, 2005. City staff has been meeting with the property owners to discuss the project and how the improvements will benefit them as well as many other owners downstream. Please see Exhibit "A" attached.
In order to start construction by the scheduled date, the City needs to start acquiring the property interests necessary for the project. Preliminary design plans are complete and final design work is underway.
